Abuse Policy
VerifyMaill is built for legitimate email hygiene and deliverability. This policy explains what we don't allow, how to report abuse, and what happens when we find it.
1. What Counts as Abuse
Abuse is any use of VerifyMaill that breaks the law, harms others, or undermines the security, reliability or reputation of the Service. It applies to everything you do through your account, the API and any integrations. Using the Service to support spam or unsolicited messaging is covered separately by our Anti-Spam Policy, which works alongside this one.
2. Prohibited Activities
You must not use the Service to:
- verify or process email lists you have no lawful right to process, including scraped, purchased or stolen lists;
- support spam, phishing, scams, malware, or any unsolicited or deceptive messaging (see the Anti-Spam Policy);
- harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate or harm any person or organisation;
- process data for unlawful discrimination, surveillance, or other illegal purposes;
- infringe intellectual-property, privacy or other rights;
- probe, scan, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its infrastructure, or other users' accounts or data;
- circumvent usage limits, billing, authentication, or our security controls;
- reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service except through an interface we authorise; or
- create multiple or fake accounts to abuse free credits, trials or limits.
3. Reporting Abuse
If you believe someone is misusing VerifyMaill (for example you received unwanted mail you think is tied to our Service, or you've spotted a security issue), please tell us at team@verifymaill.com. Include as much detail as you can: relevant email headers, timestamps, domains or addresses involved, and what happened. The more specifics you share, the faster we can act.
4. Investigation Process
We review every credible report. Depending on severity we may examine account and usage metadata, ask the account holder for an explanation, or take immediate protective action where there's a serious or ongoing risk. We aim to be fair and proportionate, and to look at the facts before acting where the situation allows it.
5. Enforcement Actions
Depending on what we find, we may take one or more of the following steps:
- issue a warning and ask you to fix the problem;
- apply rate limits or temporarily restrict features;
- remove or block specific data or activity;
- suspend the account; or
- terminate the account and, where appropriate, report the matter to the authorities.
6. Suspension & Termination
For serious, repeated, or ongoing abuse, or where the law or the safety of others requires it, we may suspend or terminate access immediately and without refund, as permitted by our Terms. Where practical and lawful, we'll give you notice and a chance to put things right first.
7. Appeals
If you think we've made a mistake, email team@verifymaill.com within 30 days with your account details and the context. We'll review it in good faith and get back to you. If a suspension was the result of a misunderstanding, we'll restore your access promptly.
